The Ocean Beach Community Plan is nearing the end of an update process that has lasted 12 years and 5 mayoral administrations.
This plan sets forth guidelines for development in Ocean Beach for the foreseeable future.
The draft Community Plan maintains and enhances the established nature of Ocean Beach residential neighborhoods, and encourages mixed commercial/residential development in the commercial district. It maintains our small-scale character of Ocean Beach with unobstructed and accessible beach frontage, and it promotes a pedestrian-friendly community.
The Ocean Beach Town Council passed a resolution in support of the draft Community Plan. And, last week, the OB Community Plan received unanimous support from the Historic Resource Board.
The plan is scheduled to go to City Council on June 30th at 2:00pm. The location is the City Administration Building Council Chambers 202 C Street, 12th Floor.
Obeacians are urged to attend and show their support for the plan at the City Council hearing as this is the most important document that will guide development in OB for the next 20 plus years.
