OB entryway sign http://obtowncouncil.org Dedicated to the care and improvement of our beautiful coastal community Fri, 16 Nov 2018 16:23:53 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.9.3 New OB Entryway Sign Installed http://obtowncouncil.org/new-ob-entryway-sign-installed/ http://obtowncouncil.org/new-ob-entryway-sign-installed/#respond Sun, 06 Jul 2014 16:11:26 +0000 http://obtowncouncil.org/?p=1244 Our thanks to San Diego County Supervisor Ron Roberts, San Diego City Councilman Ed Harris, and everyone who joined us last month in unveiling and celebrating the new OB Entryway Sign!

The new sign is weather-resistant and made with sustainable materials – some of the same materials that surfboards are made of. The look was modeled after our community’s long-standing entryway sign – as chosen by the OB community in a vote facilitated by the OB Town Council from a field of outstanding designs by local artists. The community expressed that the design is a beloved symbol of our unique community, and is a landmark that our residents fiercely protect and defend.

We are grateful to Supervisor Roberts, who was instrumental in providing funding for the new sign and worked closely with the OB Town Council Board of Directors to complete the project, and of course to Integrated Signs, which created the new sign.

OB Entryway Project – Proposed Delay by City http://obtowncouncil.org/ob-entryway-project-proposed-delay-by-city/ http://obtowncouncil.org/ob-entryway-project-proposed-delay-by-city/#respond Sat, 23 Nov 2013 18:56:38 +0000 http://obtowncouncil.org/?p=599 We have been informed that the Ocean Beach Entryway Project, Phase II  (the path that connects the OB Entryway to Robb Field) has been delayed and is at risk of losing its funding due to the delay.

City reps have been reporting for months that this project would break ground AND be completed before the end of the year.

In the final hour, we have been informed that the Project is delayed – this is largely attributed to the poor performance of the City Project Manager – which by the way, is the SAME project manager responsible for the Brighton Comfort Station/Bathrooms which took more than 3 years to complete.

The City has made promises that this project would be completed. The City should not break their promise to our community and should complete this project before year-end.

Check out the our Entryway Letter that the OB Community Development Corporation and the OBTC and many other community groups sent to Interim Mayor Todd Gloria, Councilman Kevin Faulconer, and other City officials.
