Join us at our August OB Town Council meeting on Wednesday, August 24th at 7:00pm at the Masonic Hall (1711 Sunset Cliffs Boulevard) during which the OBTC will co-host a Visioning Workshop on Newport Avenue with the OB Planning Board, and we will have a forum to hear from the candidates running for election to the OB Town Council Board of Directors. (Click here for more details on OBTC elections.)
On Thursday August 24th, at our monthly meeting of the OB Town Council, community leaders will facilitate a Visioning Workshop for Newport Avenue. The Workshop will be a 30-40 min workshop focused on examining the challenges and opportunities for Newport Avenue.
Following a brief analysis of the existing conditions, attendees will be able to submit suggestions for improvement involving infrastructure, circulation, land-use, environment, and community. The suggestions will be collected and summarized, and the findings will be compiled into a report.
This report will be used to facilitate a follow-up discussion with local Architects, Engineers, and Planners at a community event in October in partnership with the AIA San Diego’s Archtoberfest.
The goal of these workshops is to submit a document of the findings and recommendations to the City of San Diego identifying future Capital Improvement Projects on and around Newport Avenue that will make our community a more healthy, resilient, and sustainable neighborhood.
The OB Town Council hosts public meetings on the 4th Wednesday every month except November and December. Regular speakers include local leaders, political, business and law enforcement representatives, as well as members from all corners of the Ocean Beach community. Whether you’re a long-time OB-cean or just want to learn more about OB, all are welcome!
