OB’s famous ‘Squawk Squad’ of wild parrots is again under threat – five parrots have been shot and killed since last month. At our OB Town Council meeting on Wednesday, March 23rd at 7pm at the Masonic Center (1711 Sunset Cliffs Boulevard), SoCal Parrot will educate our community on their work to provide a gap of care for wild, naturalized parrots and to be a resource for parrot rehabilitation, education and protection. Additionally, we will learn about the reward money being offered for information leading to the arrest of the OB Parrot Shooter. SoCal Parrot will also bring a few of their living parrot ambassadors so that Obecians can get a close-up look at these endangered birds.
And, following up on last month’s OBTC meeting, we will hear from Bill Harris of the San Diego Department of Transportation and Storm Water with an update on OB Infrastructure needs to prevent future flooding.
The OB Town Council hosts public meetings on the 4th Wednesday every month except November and December. Regular speakers include local leaders, political, business and SDPD law enforcement representatives, as well as members from all corners of the Ocean Beach – all are welcome!
